Wessex Water have confirmed the award to Hanevo, of the ‘Chilton Saltlands Penstocks Upgrade’ project. The project comprises Mechanical, Electrical and Commissioning works to repair the actuated Inlet Penstocks.

Hanevo will set up an over-pumping arrangement and divert flows of up to 200l/s back into the rising main further upstream to allow the works to take place. The main works involve the cleaning of two large sumps to allow access to refurbish the Penstocks including the installation of new spindles. The site is contained within a built-up housing area and mitigation of noise, on site security and public safety have been paramount in project planning and decision making. Working closely with our specialist supply chain, Hanevo will provide an acoustic pump system and specialist security setup to meet these requirements. HANEVO has extensive experience with this type of project involving specialist temporary works.
