Event Duration Monitoring (EDM) ‘Mon 6’

HANEVO have commenced works on the recently awarded Wessex Water “MON6 M&E Installations Programme”. The contract covers 312 sites – which were awarded across all 4 lots – North / South / West and DSEAR.
The project aids Wessex Waters commitment to installing monitoring to 50% of its Emergency Overflows (EOs) over the next five years (known as U_MON6). The works involve the installation and commissioning of ‘Event Duration Monitors’ to 300+ EO Sites (either at the Wessex Water site or remotely).
Where there is a permitted Storm Overflow (SO) on the same site, a Flow Monitor will be installed to measure flows during the discharge. In addition, Hanevo will be installing Pressure Monitors, to monitor rising main systems for blockages and bursts while also providing UPS backup and Surge Protection.
Due to some sites being in highways / on 3rd party land, or requiring scaffolding, Traffic Management and access arrangements are key considerations while all works are programmed to complete by October 31st 2028.
Richard Gray, HANEVO Senior Electrical Project Engineer for the Water Division / Wessex Water region noted: “Our project team have gained great knowledge and experience, having successfully delivered several multi-site EDM and S105 projects for Wessex Water to date, throughout AMP 7 and 8. We understand the project requirements, and are committed to quality installations and documentation”.
