Hanevo has reached completion stage of the ‘Frome STW Recirculation Building Upgrade’ contract for Wessex Water.

Wessex Water handed over control of the Recirculation building to Hanevo in May 2022, under which a full CDM site setup was established.

The project involved all civil, mechanical, electrical & ICA works, which included the removal of existing shaft driven pumps, pipework, control panel and installation of new, whilst keeping the site operational. New instrumentation was installed to facilitate control of the pumps and new flooring to aid removal of the new pumps. As part of the project, the existing Mains Cable to the building required replacement. This involved the installation of 9 new cable pits and cabling along a 220M route up to the Inlet MCC Building.

The main project objective was to increase recirculation pump efficiency and flow rates. The anticipated improvements have been surpassed with the installation of the new pumps, lending itself to positive commentary from Wessex Operations and Process Staff. Wessex Water Project Manager for the scheme, while thanking Hanevo noted, “The project has been delivered both on time and within our budget constraints”.
