Completed in 2018, the scheme consisted of 3 main areas of work, all undertaken in live hospital environments with maximum sensitivity to patients and ongoing care they receive:
Electrical upgrades: Condition Reporting, Fault finding and rectification; Full replacement of non-compliant DBs; Full testing and certification in accordance with BS7671; Updating Trust asset information.
Domestic Water upgrades: New hot water pipework to critical NICU department and areas for future extension; Bypass pipework to water tanks; Dead-leg removal to meet compliance needs.
AHU upgrades: controls & performance upgrades to AHU in the Mortuary to meet user and compliance needs.
Fire Remediation:
In late 2018 we were awarded this project to upgrade fire protection compliance around the hospital. Very near to completion, works are carefully programmed around live wards to ensure the safety and comfort of patients and ongoing clinical care needs. The project is divided into 3 main parts:
- Fire Doors: the replacement of 190 door sets and the maintaining of 50 more to bring up to specification, using FDIS accredited installers.
- Fire Stopping: detailed surveys and rectification of fire zone partition lines, sealing penetrations through walls and floors.
- Emergency lighting: installation of 300 new fittings to meet regulations.
