Heywood House - ACS International Schools
Completed in May 2024 for full occupancy, Hanevo undertook the £2.9m (inc. VAT) full refurbishment and external repair of the Grade II listed Heywood House for ACS International Schools.
Works were undertaken to repurpose the former administrative building into improved teaching and learning spaces as part of the wider school estate masterplan.
All works were undertaken on a live education estate, with strong interaction required between the project team and surrounding campus users throughout the programme. Strict security procedures and enhanced DBS requirements were maintained to support safeguarding obligations.
Works included:
- Asbestos removals from basement areas
- Strip-out and structural alterations for new steel beams to open plan spaces
- External façade repairs including render replacement, flat roof repairs and overhaul of timber sash windows
- Full external redecoration works from fully enclosed scaffold
- New mechanical systems for heating, cooling and ventilation
- Electrical upgrades including new power, data, general and emergency lighting
- Walls, ceilings and flooring replacements with full redecoration and acoustic improvements
- New fire alarm, access control and CCTV systems linked to the wider estate
- Bespoke FF&E installations to classroom spaces and toilet and kitchen fit-outs
- Fire door upgrades maintaining the original period appearance
- Alterations to staircase handrails to improve safety in line with heritage requirements
