Completed in September 2026, Hanevo delivered specialist structural repair works to the 40m-high operational chimney serving the D Block Boiler House at St Helier Hospital.

The project formed part of the Trust’s long-term maintenance strategy to improve asset condition and ensure the continued safe operation of critical estate infrastructure.



The works were coordinated around ongoing hospital operations in adjacent buildings and surrounding estate areas.

Works included:

• Installation of protective hoardings and enhanced infrared security systems around the chimney base
• Protection works to retained roof mounted plant and surrounding infrastructure
• Installation of specialist steeplejack ladders, scaffold platforms and material hoists
• Brickwork repairs and mortar replacement to the chimney structure
• Refurbishment and repainting of steel restraining bands and flue cap structures
• Full replacement of the lightning protection system and resealing of the chimney structure
