Event Duration Monitoring Advanced – North Nibley & Wootton Bassett
Hanevo completed two EDM Advanced sites - North Nibley STW and Wootton Bassett STW in Summer and Autumn 2024, with contracts totalling £822k.
For both sites Hanevo acted as Principle Contractor to manage the Civil, Mechanical, Electrical and Commissioning works.
The scope of works comprised the installation of a new Pumping Station on each site, to divert the incoming flows, to avoid double counting at the inlet prior to MCerts flow meter.
For both sites awarded, Hanevo were involved in up-front design works, including attendance at Hazop and Design Review meetings, to assess buildability.
The driver for this project is significant pressure from Ofwat and the Environment Agency to advance the installations on site. Combining the EDMs on Spill to Storm being installed in AMP7, will enable Wessex Water to confirm that the permitted FFT for each WRC is being complied with.
Wootton Bassett had known Great Crested Newts and Badgers close to one area of our trenching works for the rising main, so we were liaising closely with Wessex Water’s environmental team to ensure we are complied with all required procedures. This site had also been subject to many upgrades over the years which meant that due to the amount of unknown buried services, several areas of pipework and ducting required hand digging to excavate.
Elizabeth Yates, Project Manager at Hanevo noted
“Being engaged from the design stage in collaboration with Wessex Water and their nominated designer, SWECO, enabled us to contribute to the project’s buildability, leading to a successful delivery that met all the requirements of Wessex Water’s Operations and H&S Teams.”
